                                                          Created for Mrs. Maxwell's Fourth Grade Class

North Carolina is divided into three regions.  Starting from west is the Mountain Region, in the middle is the Piedmont Region, and on the east is the Coastal Plain Region.  There are so many wonderful things about North Carolina that you didn't know.

     Your job is to go through and investigate the three regions of North Carolina.  Find out as much information as you can about each.  Print out this worksheet to write down interesting facts that you gather as you are searching each sight.

Activity ONE:

       After looking at the links above use your worksheet to write in your journal about a place in North Carolina that you would like to visit.  Include whether your destination is in the Mountains, Piedmont, or the Coastal Plain.  Be sure to state why you would visit this particular region, anywhere particular you would visit, what you would want to do during your stay, and how long your stay would be.  Be descriptive in your writing, include any information that you gained from the web links above. Remember the steps to writing an affective paper.
 

Activity TWO:

       Create a Venn Diagram for the three regions of North Carolina.  You may include any information in this diagram regarding facts about each region.
