1.Explain what Cheek means by comparing the US and China to Henry Higgins and Eliza Dolittle.


2. What is the "American Creed" and why do the Chinese not use it?


3.Why have the Chinese intellectuals after Tian'anmen Square not attempted to take on an American political viewpoint and form independent political parties?  What do they attempt to do?


4. Why does Jensen feel that nepotism is merely an incidental feature of corruption in China?  The law may restrict it, but it does so in nearly every other country where corruption and nepotism exists.  What makes China different?


5. What efforts should be made (in China) in order to lessen the perspective of the Chinese toward Americans as being dominant?
