Write-On Greensboro" is a program of the Center for Creative Writing and the Arts, which partners with a variety of local nonprofits to provide free creative writing workshops for community groups. Such workshops provide opportunities that encourage creative imagination, develop problem-solving skills, provide a safe place for therapeutic self-expression, and promote the discipline necessary for personal clarity and eloquence. These six to eight-week workshops occur in various locations both in the Center's 127 McIver location and off campus and are adapted to suit the unique needs of each group they serve. Workshops conclude with “reading parties” of original work, leading to the publication of selected work in the Write-on Greensboro magazine.
