How to Get Involved
There are several online development options in the College. You can choose from the course delivery option that best suits your needs.
Enhanced
Enhanced courses are taught in a primarily face-to-face environment, but have some supplemental material available online, such as syllabi, reserve readings, handouts and announcements. If you are interested in trying out the enhanced model, you can receive complete, hands-on training in how to build your course materials in the Blackboard course management system.
Blended
Blended courses still utilize some face-to-face contact time, but are at least 50% online. A blended course might meet only once a week (or even only a few times per semester). An example blended course might have the same online materials as an enhanced course, as well as features such as discussion boards, quizzes, videos, lecture notes and group assignments. If you are interested in developing a blended course, you can receive complete training on how to use the Blackboard system. In addition, you can also have access to production services, where the Instructional Technology Consultants can build components for you, such as videos, animations, and quizzes.
Fully Online
Fully online courses are delivered entirely online, at a distance. There are no required face-to-face meetings. All materials and activities for the course are conducted online. If you choose to develop a fully online course, once the course receives approval from the Dean's Office, you can meet with an Instructional Technology Consultant and work together to develop a look and feel for your course, as well as an intuitive navigation scheme. You can focus on developing your content and the ITCs can handle all technical aspects of the course's production. Instructors always have the final decision in all aspects of course design.
