Association for
Computing Machinery

Founded in 1947, ACM is a major force in advancing the skills of information technology professionals and students worldwide. Today, 80,000 members and the public turn to ACM for the industry's leading Portal to Computing Literature, authoritative publications and pioneering conferences, providing leadership for the 21st century.

ACM established Student Chapters to provide an opportunity for students to play a more active role in the Association and its professional activities. Today, more than 500 colleges and universities throughout the world participate in the ACM Student Chapter Program, whose aims are to enchance learning through exchange of ideas among students, and between established professionals and students.

The UNCG student chapter of the ACM exists to provide students interested in information technology with an extended forum from which to learn and share ideas about computing. The ACM student chapter is dedicated to increasing the UNCG student body, faculty and surrounding community's knowledge of information technology.
