The 6th Annual Branches of Love from a Spartan

Saturday, December 3

Branches of Love

It is that time of year again where UNCG students, faculty, community members and friends gather in the Virginia Dare Room of the Alumni House to compete and see who can decorate the best holiday tree. Prizes are awarded to the top teams in four categories: Best Spartan Spirit, Best Theme, Best Homemade Decorations, and Best Overall Tree. At the end of the event the fully decorated trees are delivered to needy families around Greensboro.

Branches of Love is Saturday, Dec. 3, from 1 to 4 p.m. and is open to all members of the UNCG and Greensboro communities. Special thanks to Beverly I. Williams ‘71, a member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors, for donating the first set of ornaments for this event. If you would like to donate shatter-proof ornaments or any other tree-trimmings, please bring them to the Office of Alumni Relations on the lower level of the Alumni House prior to Dec. 3.

If you would like to form a team (two to four people) please email the chair of Branches of Love, Ashlyn Helms, at alhelms@uncg.edu. Each team is asked to bring at least 10 canned food items which will also be donated to needy families. A special prize will be awarded to the team that brings in the most canned goods.

Picture Perfect

You probably walked past the Alumni House a million times while you were a student. You may have attended meetings or even a wedding in the Virginia Dare Room. Now you can relive UNCG memories with a watercolor portrait of the Alumni House painted by artist William Mangum '75, '83 MFA.
