The University of North Carolina at Greensboro Anthropology Department developed Recipe for Success to provide nutrition education to low income SNAP-Ed eligible, individuals, families and households in the Triad.  Recipe for Success receives funding from the United States Department of Agriculture through the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. Our Nutrition Educators teach both children and adult curriculums that focus on healthy food, food budgeting, and food safety. Classes are held in Title 1 Public Schools and Youth Education Centers across the region, as well as community centers, public libraries, and other facilities which serve adult populations. Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipient households in the area receive nutrition education through mailings, which include lessons on healthy food choices, grocery shopping tips, and food safety.
