Course Description
Art 363:  Aims and philosophy of art education in elementary school. Special section for art majors only offered in the fall. (Counts as Art credit.)

Objectives/ Goals

  1. To develop an understanding of the theory and practice of Art Education for elementary age students
  2. To understand and practice appropriate curriculum and teaching methods for studio, art history, criticism, and aesthetics
  3. To develop appropriate professional awareness, philosophy and attitudes
  4. To understand the historical and philosophical foundations of Art Education

Creating  with school media, reflecting on learning and idea sources for teaching, planing for teaching, leading a class and/or community media lesson.   30%
