Report on Stage Development:
Guide for Theory Papers and Presentations

  1. Read about the age/stage of image development for the age group you are assigned. Discuss this material with your team members  a.) Read the material in your text books. b). Read further (see the Art Education Bibliography).  c) You should consult 3-5 sources in your research.
  2. Write a 3-5 page report where you compare/contrast the theory and points of view of the authors and give the main features of the age/stage development.  You may include samples of child art.
  3. Read on effective speaking and prepare your part of the presentation
  4. Turn in papers on the date assigned on the calendar;  attach to your paper any class handouts or materials which you prepared for the presentation..

  1. Divide the presentation responsibilities among team members.
  2. Prepare visual materials (slides or actual works) and arrange for any equipment that you may need. Check with the instructor to arrange for slides and equipment. Prepare any display for the bulletin boards
  3. Prepare any handout materials you wish to give your classmates as part of your presentation.
  4. Practice with your team before your present.
  5. Arrange the classroom as necessary on the day you present.
  6. Turn in post-presentation self assessment
