When entering a new field, it is important to find out who the major leaders are, what are the major institutions, organizations, and associations and what is the history of the field. Below is a list of leaders, institutions, organizations, associations, activities, and issues or concerns representing a knowledge base that should be “common knowledge” to any Art Educator in North Carolina.  How many of this list do you know already?  This information will have connections to in-class and the online discussions in this course as well as informing your readings and other class assignments.

Some of the items listed below will appear in the identify section of your final exam. Some of the items you may easily locate either in your text books or in other course handouts. Some items you may need to search to find,  either online (check @rt Ed Links first, then try a search engine ) or in the library.

For individuals, give their major art education contribution and institutional affiliation. For institutions, organizations, or associations, list the major leaders, location, size, and purpose of the group.  For major issues, give some indication of the concerns, and if of historical significance, the time.  Due Date
