A group effort in planning a DBAE Unit incorporating technology as
a part of 1) curriculum planning and 2) the activities for students.
Credit: 30% |
Project Description:
Project teams, each consisting of three (3) members, will develop a
Discipline-based
Art Education Unit. The DBAE Unit must:

Cover no less than three weeks or more than six weeks.

Incorporate/ integrate art history, studio*,
aesthetics, and art criticism
*The studio projects may use traditional
art materials or may use the computer as the medium. If the project
uses computer graphics software for student-generated products, team members
should "do" the project as a sample to submit with the lesson plan.
Include with the project a statement of computer platform, programs, and
other identifying information.

Use Internet resources for both teacher curriculum research and as a part
of the activities for students.
Team Work:

Collaborate via e-mail. Instructor will send each member of the group the
e-mail address of the other members.

Contact each other to select a topic or theme for the DBAE Unit.

Select a "correspondent," who then e-mails the instructor the topic or
theme of the unit, and coordinates the final document for submission.
However, any member with a question is free to contact
the instructor at any time. Instructor will reply and may offer suggestions,
text sources, or links.

Prepare the final project for submission. Include:

Theme or organizing concept

Statement of how each of the areas is addressed in the Unit -- i.e., art
history, art criticism, aesthetics, studio

Daily lesson plans for the unit (Include any handouts prepared for students,

Calendar
-
Evaluation rubrics (quizzes, tests, written assignments, portfolio lists,
etc.)

List of supplies for the total unit
-
List of texts, slides, video, CD-ROM's, or Internet Sources for Total Unit
-
References ( Include national, state, and /or local standards or competencies
met for both art and computer curriculums for the entire unit)

Statement of any special concerns, or modifications of the unit for learning
levels or styles, for multicultural concerns, or for any assistive
technologies that might be needed for students

List of the team members with a biography paragraph, e-mail, and snail
mail address.
