Interview three art educators (teachers, professors, museum, art center,
art association administrators) and discuss the extent to which they have
contact with others in their field via technology (especially e-mail, listserv,
or chat) and what benefits they find from this contact.
Find/sample listserv resources in art during the run of this course and
summarize the kinds of information that you received. (If you are already
a member of an art education/art listserv, review the kinds of information
you have received over the past 3 or 4 months. Hint:
the Getty Artsed.net listserv is a extremely active one; subcribe
to this if this is a new option for you)
Check out 2 or 3 art education associations who have web pages and review
the content and links provided.
Check out 2 or 3 general sources for educators and review the content and
links provided.
Comment on the impact or what you have come to understand of the nature
of this online community. What kinds of activities have you discovered
online that allow students to exchange or collaborate with students
from a
different school, state, or country? What kind of collaborative
work would you design for your students and what outcomes would you
expect? Discuss the advantages of a web based gallery for your school.
Does your school currently have web pages? Visit several school web
pages and review the sites.
