Topic:  Art Education Community Online 

Credit: 10% each
Class Links: How to use the automated Webliography 

Topics to address:
  1. Interview three art educators (teachers, professors, museum, art center, art association administrators) and discuss the extent to which they have contact with others in their field via technology (especially e-mail, listserv, or chat) and what benefits they find from this contact.
  2. Find/sample listserv resources in art during the run of this course and summarize the kinds of information that you received. (If you are already a member of an art education/art listserv, review the kinds of information you have received over the past 3 or 4 months.   Hint:  the Getty Artsed.net listserv is a extremely active one;  subcribe to this if this is a new option for you)
  3. Check out 2 or 3 art education associations who have web pages and review the content and links provided.
  4. Check out 2 or 3 general sources for educators and review the content and  links provided.
  5. Comment on the impact or what you have come to understand of the nature of this online community.  What kinds of activities have you discovered online that allow students to  exchange or collaborate with students from a

  6.  different school, state, or  country? What kind of collaborative work would you design for your students and  what outcomes would you expect?  Discuss the advantages of a web based gallery for your school.  Does your  school currently have web pages? Visit several school web pages and review the sites.
  7. Select the best Website to share with your classmates on the Class Links "Webliography."
