Searching to discover new artists and trends outside of NYC, gallery directors Christina Ray and David Kesting found an opportunity to exhibit the work of a unique group of artists located in North Carolina. The artists contributing to in the open reveal mystery in subjects that are frequently overlooked or misunderstood. This show was made possible with the support of the College of Arts & Sciences and Department of Art at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Mark Farris is an experimental printmaker and installation artist whose work playfully explores scientific depictions of the human body. Photographer Hannah Holshouser seeks the irregular and elusive in her seductive long-exposure night landscapes depicting eerie homes and luminous shadowlands. Sculptor Paul Howe mines industrial and commercial methods to create strong abstract works from basic materials like steel, brick, twine and burlap with simplicity and grace. Gabriel Serpa uses elements of the urban landscape that have been discarded or ignored to create poetic paintings and installations through the lens of memory and location. Harry Swartz-Turfle's colorful non-representational paintings are backroom romances between random occurrence and personal gesture.
