Bryan School Alumni Scholarship Fund FAQ

Pledge Form | Give Now | FAQ

Q: Why a scholarship program?

A: The Bryan School Alumni Association was formed to provide a conduit for Bryan School Alumni to continue their relationship with their peers after graduation. What better way to support this mission and to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Bryan School of Business and Economics than to come together for a cause that we all have in common and help grow our Bryan School Alumni Community? The Bryan School Alumni Scholarship Fund allows alumni to connect, get involved, inspire each other and future alumni, and to give back to our future fellow alumni. Current economic conditions have resulted in reduced amounts of scholarship monies available to support our Bryan School students. Now, more than ever, our future fellow alumni need our help to ensure they receive the educational and leadership opportunities essential to their growth and development as Bryan School students and future business leaders.

Q: How long has the Bryan School Alumni Scholarship Fund been available?

A: The Bryan School Alumni Scholarship Fund was established in the spring of 2009 by unanimous consent of the Bryan School Alumni Association Board. You have the unique opportunity to be an Inaugural Donor to the program.

Q: How is the Bryan School Alumni Scholarship Fund funded?

A: The Bryan School Alumni Association funds the scholarship through events such as the Bryan School Alumni Association Golf Tournament and other fundraising activities, and by soliciting gifts from alumni and friends of the Bryan School. The Board’s intent is to endow the scholarship in three years or less; until that time an annual scholarship will be funded by the Board. The first scholarship will be awarded for the 2009-2010 academic year.

Q: How is the Bryan School Alumni Scholarship awarded?

A: Scholarships from the Bryan School Alumni Scholarship Fund are awarded by the Dean to undergraduate or graduate students based upon academic merit and demonstrated leadership potential.

Q: Can recipients renew a Bryan School Alumni Scholarship award?

A: Yes, awards may be renewed over multiple semesters.

Q: Are my gifts to the Bryan School Alumni Scholarship Fund tax deductible?

A: Yes, all gifts are tax deductible to the full extent provided by law.

Q: How can I participate?

A: You can support the Bryan School Alumni Scholarship Fund in multiple ways:

  1. Make a gift to the scholarship fund. Gifts in any amount can be made by cash, stock or credit card and can be made in regular installments based on a schedule that fits your budget. Gifts can also be made online.
