Internship Information

Finding an internship involves research, networking, and most of all persistence. Essentially searching for an internship is just like searching for a job. Below are some useful online resources to use as part of you internship search. But keep in mind that making connections with family, friends, professors, Bryan Career Services, and other contacts you have may be the best way to find an internship. So in addition to looking for internships online, be sure to connect with as many people as possible through informational interviews, career fairs, mock interviews, professional meetings/events, etc.

On most company web sites, you should look under the Career section to identify internships. On some sites, there is a specific section for internships or campus recruiting opportunities. In addition:

AIG United Guaranty offers internships for MBA and MSITM students.*

JP Morgan offers internships for MBA student in a variety of fields. They also offer opportunities specifically for women to learn more about the industry, network, and apply for internships.*

Bank of America offers internship programs for MBAs. Internships are usually located in Charlotte, NC.*

Capstrat located in Raleigh typically offers internships throughout the school year in PR/Marketing/Advertising.

Duke Energy offers internships specifically for MBAs as well internships in the areas of HR, Communications, IT, Engineering, and Accounting and Finance.*

Fidelity offers opportunities for graduate students in Accounting, HR, Consulting, IT, Investing, and Marketing.*

IBM offers internships in the Durham, NC area.*

Lowe's offfers summer internship programs for graduate students.  The program begins in June and lasts for 10 weeks. *

Microsoft offers MBA careers including Internships in Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Corporate Strategy. *

Procter & Gamble Company offers some internships in Greensboro and other parts of NC.*

Red Hat offers internships all year round in NC.*

SAS offers professional as well as student opportunities.

Scottrade Interns work closely with experienced stockbrokers. *

Siemens offers internships throughout the year in a variety of different business-related fields.*

Sun Trust offers structured internship programs.*

Syngenta offers internships in a variety of different business-related areas.*

COMPANIES WITH INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS (OR THAT HIRE INTERNS) OUTSIDE NORTH CAROLINA

Apple’s internships have students working on real projects alongside Apple employees. Summer internships and internships throughout the school-year are available.

Coca-Cola offers internships to MBAs and other graduate students.  The most common internships are in the areas of Marketing and Finance.

Disney Theme Parks & Resorts offers opportunities for Disney Professional Interns in more than 200 different disciplines and in fields ranging from Biochemistry, to Finance, to Marketing, to Horticulture, to Information Technology and many more.

The Hartford offers MBA interns and interns from other areas of business the opportunity to work in the insurance and financial sectors.

Johnson & Johnson offers career opportunities for MBAs, including internships and ledearship development programs upon graduation.

Kimberly Clark offers internship opportunities at Wisconsin, Georgia, Tennessee and Texas headquarters and at 25 manufacturing facilities.

Mattel offers internships for MBA students mostly in the areas of Marketing and Finance.  Interns are given project-based assignments.

Novartis offers a MBA oriented program and many internship opportunities overseas.

OGE Energy Corporation offers intership opportunities at various locations.

Palo Alto Research Center offers MBA and other internships mostly over the summer. Interns work on a variety of different research projects.

Progressive offers MBA and IT specific internships.

Sun Microsystems offers internships in Engineering and Information Systems.

Toyota offers summer internships for MBA students.

Wal-Mart offers internships in a variety of different business-related areas including finance, marketing, supply chain management, operations, and information systems.
