Today’s apparel industry is truly a global industry. It was with this in mind, that CARS concentration in Global Apparel and Related Industry Studies, was developed. While it is focused on textile and apparel products, it is also about broadening the understanding of the consumer, and preparing students for global careers and world citizenship.
No matter the concentration, the Consumer, Apparel, and Retail Studies Department strongly encourages all of its students to engage in international travel and studies. Such trips provide opportunities to gain cross-cultural knowledge and develop skills enabling students to become successful professionals, and help them gain global experience.
Our faculty are also engaged globally through research, and global collaborations with education and industry partners.
