Each year CARS Faculty collaborate with universities and corporations around the globe conducting research and offering consultation. One such collaboration was the USDA Higher Education Challenge Project entitled Collaborative Development of Global Fiber, Fabric, and Related Products Industry Based Problem-Solving Modules for Undergraduate Curricula. The purpose of the project was to prepare students for globally-connected industry careers by fostering problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork skills via the incorporation of real world industry issues and challenges into the undergraduate classroom. The three year, multi-phase project involving US and international collaborators in academia and industry, including the following:
