Requirements of the Business (BUS) 110, UNCG Course

• Complete three (3) training activities. No written reports are to be submitted. (However, you will be able to check on the Disney HUB to ensure that the completion of your activities has been recorded. Look for instructions at end of packet.)
• First training activity is Traditions. (This activity is the orientation process that all cast members undergo before they start the training for their specific jobs).
• Second training activity. (This activity will be in the workplace and will be part of your being prepared for your role).
• Third training activity. (This activity will also occur in the workplace and will be part of your being prepared for your role)
• Complete three (3) learning opportunities from Disney University.
  Select three events from the Disney University Learning Opportunities (upcoming learning opportunitiesare announced via the Disney University monthly newsletter, weekly e-mails, and the Disney HUB). Learning activities range in length from one to four hours per session. Participants can gain valuable career management insights.

• For each learning opportunity, send a notice (use both e-mail addresses) as each event is completed. This notice is to include three information items:
  • Date of the opportunity
  • Category of learning opportunity (listed above)
  • Title of the activity

Example:  “I completed the following learning opportunity: Conversation With Jerry Montgomery, Senior Vice President of Conservation and Environmental Sustain on Monday, 5/12, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. I will confirm that the Disney Hub has recorded this learning opportunity.”

• Complete reports on two (2) topics based on your Disney experience. A written report is to be submitted for each topic.
  Format requirements for written reports
  Each report should be at least two (2) pages in length, in 12-point font, 1 and ½ line spacing, 1 inch margins (top, bottom, left and right) and no bold text.
  • First Topic: Cultural Experience
    Consider what it has been like to live and work with people from cultures other than your own. What have been the challenges and benefits? Please give specific examples of your experiences to illustrate each particular challenge or benefit.
  • Second Topic: An Evaluation of the total Disney experience
    The assignment will constitute an evaluation of the UNCG/Disney Program. (If you wish to add other evaluative topics to that assignment, please feel free to exercise that option.)
    
    For each of the evaluation topics, provide comment and examples on, at least, these questions:
    What were the positives and negatives of each experience?
    Were you treated with respect by your roommates, managers, and coworkers?
    What would you like to see changed?
