IntroductionThe purpose of BUS 110: Exploring Business Basics is to acquire skills and knowledge in regard to values, needs, and wants as well as customer service, self-management, problem-solving and career planning. Course ParticipationIn order to take this course you must be a participant in the Disney Theme Parks and Resorts College Pogram. To be selected for participation in this program you need to attend a presentation on a college campus and interview with the Disney recruiter. For a list of presentations at colleges in the U.S. go to Disney Theme Parks and Resorts College Program and follow the student links.On-site Faculty Visits During the semester, your instructor and other Bryan School professors may periodically come to lecture, meet individually with students to review academic progress, work with the Disney Education Team, and conduct work placement site visits. Grading/EvaluationBUS 110: "Exploring Business Basics" requires: (1) completion of learning activities and (2) completion of one Disney Collegiate Educational Experience: Corporate Communications, Experiential Learning, Advanced Studies in Hospitality, Human Resource Management, Organizational Leadership, Practicum, Creativity and Innovation or Marketing You. Certain guidelines are provided to ensure that each student receives maximum benefit from this experience, and these guidelines are to be viewed as minimum requirements in order to qualify for successful completion of the course.
