This course can only be taken in conjunction with the
Disney Theme Parks and Resorts College Program and requires a 2.0 GPA or higher. It
requires completion of eight journal assignments, in conjunction with internship work hours. It also
requires completion of one of the following Disney Educational Experiences:
Corporate Communications,
Experiential Learning, Advanced Studies in Hospitality, Human Resource Management,
Organizational Leadership, Practicum, Creativity and Innovation or Marketing You. To see the course syllabi please visit

Introduction
The purpose of BUS 230: "Applied Business Concepts "
is to extend and refine your general business knowledge. Incorporating
actual worksite experience with class assignments. This course explores and
promotes:
- work site orientation
- exploration of business culture
- business skills identification
- integration to business environment
- discovery of new technologies
- application of effective writing skills
Course Participation
In order to take this course you must be a participant in the Disney
Theme Parks and Resorts College Pogram. To be selected for participation in this program you
need to attend a presentation on a college campus and interview with the
Disney recruiter. For a list of presentations at colleges in the U.S. go

On-site Faculty Visits
During the semester, your instructor and other Bryan School professors may periodically come to lecture, meet
individually with students to review academic progress, work with the Disney Education Team, and conduct work placement
site visits.
Grading/Evaluation
BUS 230: "Applied Business Concepts " requires: (1) completion of 8 journal assignments (2) completion of one of the following Disney Collegiate
Educational Experiences: Corporate Communications,
Experiential Learning, Advanced Studies in Hospitality, Human Resource Management,
Organizational Leadership, Practicum, Creativity and Innovation or Marketing You.
Certain guidelines are provided to ensure that each student receives
maximum benefit from this experience, and these guidelines are to be viewed
as minimum requirements in order to qualify for successful completion

Official Undergraduate Grading System
Course Policies:
- Completed Letter
of Intent must be submitted no later than the first
week of your educational coursework at Disney.
- All course requirements must be completed and sent via email to Dr. Miles by the due date.
- You must notify your instructor in the event of your dismissal
from the internship. This may result in a grade of "W" for the course.
Failure to notify your instructor may result in a grade of "WF". For International Students: You must also immediately notify the International Program Center at UNCG so they can assist you with visa issues.
- A survey
evaluating your internship/course experience will be sent to you.
Completion of this form is necessary to fulfill the course requirements.
