M.A.
Applied Economics

Ph.D.
Economics
Our innovative, streamlined program begins Fall
2004. Our Ph.D. program is built on our highly
successful, microeconomic-focused M.A. program in Applied
Economics. The curriculum is designed for students who
want the integration of economic theory and econometrics
combined with real world statistical and data analysis
skills. Our microeconomic focus on the fields of health,
labor, public and micro finance prepares you for a research
career in banking and finance, government agencies, health
organizations and medical schools, industry, public policy
research organizations, and academia.
The
Combined M.A./Ph.D. Program
Earn an M.A., stay for the Ph.D. The
combined M.A./ Ph.D. economics degree at UNCG allows qualified
masters students to enter directly into our Ph.D. program
without pointless course repetition. The combined M.A./
Ph.D. allows you to earn a highly marketable M.A. in Applied
Economics in three semesters with the option of moving
into our Ph.D. program in your second year. If you would
