Why Study Economics?

"The bottom line is that any informed and active citizen needs to understand the economic method of thinking. The more of us that can apply a little skepticism and an ability to weigh up the evidence to any public policy issue, the healthier our democracies will be and the wealthier our nations. Besides, it's fun. Unless you're a hermit with no interest in the world, applying economic principles opens new windows on life every day. It makes almost every article in the newspaper potentially interesting. It breathes life into dry tables of numbers and abstract charts."
