
GREENSBORO – Lee Lor, a sophomore international business major at the Bryan School of Business and Economics at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, has earned the Freeman-ASIA Award.
The award supports American undergraduate students who choose to study in East and Southeast Asia.
Lor is spending the 2007-08 academic year at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea studying economics and the Korean language and culture. She received $7,000 from the Freeman-ASIA Foundation to support her studies.
Freeman-ASIA Award recipients are expected to share their experiences with their home campuses to encourage study abroad in Asia by others and to spread greater understanding of Asia and its people and culture with their home communities.
Since the launch of the program in 2000, Freeman-ASIA has supported more than 3,000 U.S. undergraduate tudents with their study abroad plans in East and Southeast Asia. ###
