
MSITM Program Structure
The MSITM curriculum is comprised of four components:
Courses are designed for students who have not already completed equivalent coursework and
specific learning objectives. All basic business and
IT
knowledge classes may be waived if student has prior experience or coursework in the following areas.
They include:
- Business Statistics
- Presentation and Interpretation of Financial Statements
- Desktop Data Management
- Business Processes and Technology
- Web Design and Development
- Hours Available: 7.5
- Minimum Hours Required: 0
Foundation level courses provide the business and technical knowledge necessary to
complete the core courses of the program. Up to 4.5 credit hours at this level may be waived.
The courses cover the following subject areas:
- Database Design
- Business Application Programming I
- Networks and Telecommunications
- Enterprise Information Systems and Data Warehousing
- Systems Analysis and Design
- E-Business Strategy
- Project Management
- Information Assurance
- XML and Related Technologies
- Hours Available: 13.5
- Minimum Hours Required: 9
All core level courses are required for all students, regardless of prior experience and/or coursework.
Core level courses include topics in:
- Data Mining
- Database Implementation
- E-Commerce Development
- Systems Design and Software Engineering
- Business Applications Programming II
- Distributed Systems and Architecture
- Business and IT Planning
- Information Technology Security
- Project in Information Technology
- Hours Available: 13.5
- Minimum Hours Required: 13.5
Elective level courses are meant to allow students to specialize and to gain
additional competency in areas of IT that interest them the most. Students select
their electives in consultation with MSITM program director.
The MSITM program offers a variety of electives and only a sample is listed
below. Other elective courses may be added in the future. A sample of some elective
courses are:
- Open Source Systems
- Supply Chain Management
- Web Services and Distributed Systems
- Management of Technology and Innovation
- Global IT Strategy and Management
- Enterprise Resource Planning Systems

the MSITM Program Director before applying to the program.
