Parking & Directions
The best mode of transportation for students is to be dropped off by their parent or another adult if car pooling. For those few students that are driving by themselves, we have a few spots in the Oakland Parking deck (near Yum-Yums, off of Spring Garden street. Please email us ASAP if any student plans to drive to campus). Parents who want to join the students at registration or for orientation are welcome to stay, however, parking is not free for parents. Parents can either part in the Oakland deck or the Walker deck, where the parking fee is $1 per hour. Parents can check with us when the student is dropped off in front of the Bryan building if there are still questions about parking.
A campus map (http://www.uncg.edu/online_map/) is attached for your convenience (Bryan Building is #82). As you drive on Spring Garden Street, turn onto Stirling Street. There will be a sign posted outside of the Bryan building for the workshop registration/check-in.
Please do not park in handicap, restricted/reserved spots. Coin parking has a 2-hour time limit and is not free - please bring change. The workshop organizers will not be responsible for illegal parking and its consequences.
Please note that pick-up time is between 4:30pm and 5:00pm in front of the Bryan building (the same place where students are dropped off ). Thank you in advance for the prompt pick-up of students during this time period.
Drop-off and Pick-up
Parents can drop-off students at the front of Bryan building entrance on the Yum Yum side (as you come from Spring Garden, turn into Stirling Street and you will see the sign for the workshop). A representative will be present to receive students. Signs will be posted on other entrances directing students to come to Bryan Building Room 221 lobby area for check-in.
Parents can join the students during networking session from 1 pm in EUC or Pick-up students at 1.45 pm outside EUC in front of Walker Ave parking deck (as you come down further on Stirling Street, you will see EUC on your right).
Workshop Check-In
Workshop check-in begins at 8.30 am in the lobby near Bryan 204. Volunteers will receive the student in the morning at the drop-off location outside of the Bryan building and will direct them towards the check-in area. Please note that there is only one drop off area near the intersection of Stirling and Theta street (look for signs). At check-in, students will receive the necessary materials for the workshop.
