Bryan Students Sweep APICS Graduate Program Awards

Papers written by graduate students at the Bryan School won awards in the graduate category of the 2006 Donald W. Fogarty International Student Paper Competition of the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS). The papers were written as part of the requirements for Dr. Vidyaranya Gargeya’s course, MBA 607: The Operations Function. The awards went to the following Bryan students:

Michael Smith’s paper, Supply Chain Management and the Luxury Homebuilder, received first place at the Piedmont Triad Chapter level and second place at the Region XI level. Michael is a student in the Master of Accounting program.

Marty Quinton Hancock received second place at the Piedmont Triad Chapter level and third place at the Region XI level for his paper, World Class Manufacturing: A Review of Implementation and Change Management Strategies. Marty is a student in the evening MBA program.

Day MBA students, Enache Enache and Leslie McNeill received third place at the Piedmont Triad Chapter level for their paper on Supply Chain Management at Volvo Manufacturing.

The students will be recognized at the Professional Development Meeting of the Piedmont Triad Chapter of APICS in November. Congratulations to all on a job well done.
