Professor Vidyaranya Gargeya to Serve as Director of the Bryan MBA Program

Professor Vidyaranya Gargeya has been named the Interim Director of the Bryan MBA Program for the 2006-2007 academic year.  Professor Gargeya has been a member of the faculty at the Bryan School for thirteen years where he teaches The Operations Function, Global Operations Strategy, Supply Chain Management, and Total Quality Management for the MBA program.

After serving as the MBA program director from 2001 to 2006, Professor Sheldon Balbirer has decided to return to the faculty on a full-time basis.  During his tenure as director, the Bryan MBA underwent tremendous expansion.  Balbirer oversaw the launching of the day MBA program, the Graduate Career Services Office, and the MBA/MS in Gerontology dual degree.  A strong believer in the importance of the practical application of knowledge acquired in the classroom, Balbirer established the summer internship project with the Asheboro Zoo in 2005 and he has played an instrumental role in the field projects for the capstone course taken by second-year MBA students in the day program.
