International Agreement Will Bring Students from Shanghai University to UNCG for their MBAs

Through a collaborative agreement with Shanghai University and Shanghai Shenwei Management Consulting Company, the Bryan School of Business and Economics will begin enrolling business students from Shanghai University into the evening MBA program.

To reduce the time and expense of completing two full years of academic study in the United States, the students will first complete the basic level coursework at Shanghai University before applying to UNCG. After completing the prerequisite coursework in China and being admitted to the Bryan MBA program, the Chinese students will spend two semesters at UNCG taking advanced level MBA courses.

With a population of nearly ten million, Shanghai is the largest city in China and one of the largest cities in the world. Shanghai is a financial and industrial center for the Chinese economy and Shanghai University, which enrolls approximately 40,000 students, is one of China’s leading research universities.

“There is great demand for the American MBA degree in China,” says UNCG Professor, Dr. Ruth King, who played a key part in establishing the agreement. “This agreement will widen the Bryan School’s international network and broaden the international mix of students in the MBA program.”

This is the second agreement the Bryan School has signed with a foreign university this academic year. In the fall, the Bryan School finalized an exchange with EBS Paris.
