Services Provided
The major purpose of this office is to support faculty members in their scholarly and creative research activities. This office will assist with the many administrative details involving proposal preparation/submission and project management. Services provided by our office are as follows:
- Locating research partners in the Bryan School
- Resources to assist faculty with their scholarly activities
- Finding funding sources for Bryan Faculty and other professional areas (link to sources)
- Research Databases at UNCG For Bryan School
- Guidance on Bryan School and UNCG policies and procedures
- Identifying and communicating with potential funding sources
- Arranging internal and external reviews of proposals and manuscripts
- Coordinating budget development with appropriate department head and OSP
- Preparing proposal application and certification forms
- Planning and facilitating meetings of multiple participants
- Communicating with University and external offices
- Assisting in the gathering letters of support
- Routing proposals to appropriate offices and final mailing
- Assisting in the management of on-going projects
- Electronic submission of applications
- Submission of applications for internal funding
- Past awards, budget administration, monthly reports, and expenditure information.
Discussions between the faculty member and office staff at an early stage can delineate steps, timeline, key participants, and the acceptance of responsibilities important in the completion of a high quality proposal. Faculty members are encouraged to review the pocket guide as early as possible for assistance in these areas.
