The History of Economic Thought
My Course at UNC-Greensboro: I teach the History of Economic Thought
(ECO 555) at UNC-Greensboro every fall. In the class we examine the
ideas of such seminal thinkers as Adam Smith, T. Robert Malthus, Karl
Marx, Alfred Marshall, John Maynard Keynes, and Friedrich Hayek, as
well as the times in which they wrote. The course enrolls both advanced
undergraduates as well as masters students. For undergraduates it fulfills
both the Writing Intensive and Speaking Intensive for the economics
major. To learn more about how the class is structured go here.
For more on speaking and writing components of the class, go here,
here, and

web-site for Writing and Speaking Intensive courses is the UNCG site
on Communication Across
the Curriculum. I also frequently provide handouts for the course.

Resources for the History of Economic Thought: I have
compiled a handout for my classes that should be helpful for those who
wish to investigate a topic in the history of economic thought. To see
the handout, go here.
