Advising
As a Bryan School student, you will be advised on course selection and your academic goals through the Office of
Undergraduate Student Services in 232 Bryan Building.
When you have completed the Bryan School pre-admission requirements, and have been formally admitted to your major,
you will be assigned to a faculty advisor who can provide you with specific industry and career knowledge about your
program of study.
Advising for semester classes takes place in the preceding semester, typically in mid-October (for spring classes)
and mid-March (for summer and fall classes). Just before the start of the advising and early-registration period, the
Office of Undergraduate Student Services will send out information about how to schedule your advising appointment for
the upcoming semester. This information will be sent to your e-Spartan email account, so please make sure that you
regularly check this account.
Make sure to meet with your advisor early during the advising period so that you can register during your scheduled
window! Your registration window is based on the number of hours that you have earned to date. Therefore, you have
earned the ability to register earlier than students who have completed fewer hours. Set your advising appointment
early enough to ensure that you don't miss your registration window.
Advisors are also available year-round by appointment to assist students with course plans, goal-setting, and success
strategies. Please call Undergraduate Student Services at (336) 334-5928 to schedule an individual appointment.
