Entrepreneurship Minor
Requirements: minimum of 15 semester hours
This Entrepreneurship Minor is available to both Bryan School majors and non-business majors. The courses in the entrepreneurship minor reflect the many contexts in which an entrepreneurial mindset adds value to individual lives and to organizations. To earn an Entrepreneurship Minor, a student must meet the following requirements:
For Bryan School Majors:

For Non-Business Majors:

Economics Minor
Requirements: minimum of 18 semester hours
The Economics Minor is especially appropriate for students whose majors are geography, history, mathematics, political science, sociology, or for students doing interdisciplinary studies in the social sciences. To earn an Economics Minor, a student must meet the following requirements:
- Complete ECO 101 or 201. Both cannot count towards the minor. Students cannot earn credit for both courses.
- Complete 15 additional semester hours of economics. ECO 202, ECO 250 and ECO 300 are all approved electives for the Economics Minor.
Note: ECO 100 cannot count towards the ECO minor.
Information Technology Minor
Requirements: minimum of 15 semester hours
The Information Technology Minor is available to any student (except ISOM majors) who is in good standing at the University. The minor complements a variety of professional and arts and science fields. It focuses on various IT tools and applications and the use of these technologies to improve decision-making in a variety of professional environments. To earn an Information Technology Minor, a student must meet the following requirements:
- Admission to the minor. Consult with The Bryan School Office of Undergraduate Student Services, 301 Bryan.
- To receive credit for the minor, the student must achieve a minimum GPA of 2.0 in all courses taken for the IT minor.
- ISM 110 or equivalent, ISM 116 (formerly 206) and ISM 210; two additional courses from ISM 280, 318, 324, and SCM 304, for a total of 15 semester hours. At minimum, 9 hours used for the minor must be successfully completed at UNCG.
Business Minor
Requirements: minimum of 21 semester hours
The Business Minor, consisting of 21 semester hours, is available for majors outside the Bryan School who are in good standing at the University. The minor complements a variety of professional and arts and science fields. To earn a Business Minor, a student must meet the following requirements in the order listed:
- Complete ACC 201 or 202 or 218; ECO 101 or 201; and ISM 110 with a GPA of 2.0 or better among these three courses.
- Apply for admission to the minor program in the Bryan School Office of Undergraduate Student Services, Room 301 Bryan Building. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 is required.
- Consult with an advisor in the Bryan School Office of Undergraduate Student Services to select 12 semester hours of electives. Some of the more common electives are: BUS 328, FIN 300, MGT 200, MGT 240, MGT 309, MGT 312, MGT 330, MGT 354, MKT 320, ISM 206, ISM 210, ECO 100.
A cumulative GPA of C (2.0) or better must be achieved in the 21 hours applied toward the minor in order to graduate with the minor.
Accounting Minor
Requirements: minimum of 15 semester hours
The accounting minor is available to any UNCG student (other than ACC majors) who is in good standing in the University. The minor complements a variety of professional and arts and sciences fields. It focuses on various accounting principles in order for students to be more successful in their professional pursuits. To earn an Accounting Minor, a student must meet the following requirements:
- Admission to the minor. See Undergraduate Student Services, 301 Bryan.
- To receive credit for the minor, the student must achieve a grade of C or better in all courses taken for the accounting minor.
- ACC 218, 202, 318 and an additional 6 s.h. of upper division accounting courses at the 300 or 400 level, for a total of 15 s.h., nine (9) s.h. of which must be successfully completed at UNCG.
Note: For any minor, nine (9) semester hours in the minor must be successfully completed at UNCG. For any minor, the student must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 to enroll in Bryan School courses.
