Previous award winners are not eligible for three years after being chosen, and are not included in the list above.

Criteria For Teaching Excellence:

  • Outstanding facilitation of student learning through the promotion of critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding success in guiding and facilitating student development and accomplishment
  • Consistent success in making complex ideas and concepts understandable and meaningful to students
  • Substantial influence on the academic and professional pursuits of students
  • The establishment and maintenance of high academic standards
  • The effective use of innovations in teaching

Nomination Process:

  • A faculty member may be nominated by more than one person.
  • Nominations may be made by students, staff, other faculty members and alumni.
  • The faculty development subcommittee will review the nominations and select one person who is nontenured (Lecturer or Asst. Professor) and one who is tenured (Assoc. Professor or Full Professor).
