Registration
During your advising session, you will receive an advising code that enables you to register for the next semester's courses. This is a unique code that changes each semester and is necessary to add or drop classes—be sure to keep up with this number all semester! Once you have this code, along with your student ID number and your PIN, you can log on to UNCGenie and begin the registration process. Advising codes will not be provided until you have met with your advisor.
During early registration you can only register for classes during your designated registration window. The registration windows are open depending on the number of hours completed at the time of registration. Senior- and junior-level students have first priority and choice of courses followed by the sophomore and freshman classes. Class levels are marked in 30-hour increments. Your registration window will be emailed to you by the University Registrar before early registration.
You have earned the ability register before students who have earned fewer hours. Take advantage of this by registering early in your designated registration window.
