Bryan Scholars

UNCG’s Joseph M. Bryan School of Business and Economics offers a number of competitive, merit based scholarships to outstanding students who wish to pursue one of the majors the school offers.

Merit Awards Program

The Bryan School offers scholarships to entering freshmen through the University’s Merit Awards Program. Two of these scholarships are described below.

  • Kathleen P. and Joseph M. Bryan Scholarships.  The School awards Bryan Scholarships each year that provide the recipients with $5,000 to $6,000 per year for four years. These scholarships also include a stipend of up to $2,500 to support the student’s study abroad.
  • Bank of America Scholarships.  The School awards Bank of America Scholarships each year that provide the recipients with $5,000 to $6,000 per year for four years.  These scholarships also include a stipend of up to $2,500 to support the student’s study abroad.
  • Students who apply through the Merit Awards Program are also automatically considered for all other Merit Awards scholarships offered by the University.

To apply for these scholarships, students should complete the Merit Scholarship Application by the date listed on the website.  The University and the Bryan School will review the applications and select applicants to invite to campus for competitive interviews.  Successful applicants normally will have a minimum SAT score of 1800 (or ACT score of 27), a minimum high school GPA of 3.5, demonstrated leadership in extracurricular activities, and an interest in studying abroad at least one semester.

Other Bryan School Scholarships

In addition to the Merit Awards Program scholarships discussed above, the Bryan School offers a limited number of merit and need-based scholarships each year.  Students (new and continuing) who have high-quality academic records, meet specific award requirements, and/or have financial need may apply for Bryan School scholarship support. These awards may or may not be renewable.

You may apply for these scholarships by completing the Bryan School of Business and Economics Scholarship Application and hand delivering it to the Dean’s Office, 401 Bryan Building;  mailing it to the Dean’s Office, Bryan School, P.O. Box 26165, UNCG, Greensboro, NC 27402-6165; or emailing it to Bryan_Scholarships@uncg.edu.

A listing of all scholarships available at the University is found in the publication, UNCG Financial Aid Directory.
