The Carolina Film and Video Festival, the oldest continuously operating film festival in the Carolinas, will celebrate its 29th year in 2006.

 

CFVF 2006 Awards
The Screenwriter's Showcase: CFVF offers a cash award and a staged reading of the best screenplay submitted to the Festival.

Independent Filmmaker Awards: special cash prizes for innovative approaches to documentary, animation, and experimentation made by independent artists in film and video.

The Independent Experimental/Animation Prize: A cash prize for outstanding achievement in an animated or experimental, film or video.

The Independent Documentary Prize: A cash prize for outstanding achievement in documentary film or video.

College Filmmaker Awards: special cash prizes for innovative approaches to documentary, animation, and experimentation in first or subsequent works made by artists enrolled in college or university classes.

The College Experimental/Animation Prize: A cash prize for outstanding achievement in an animated or experimental film or video.

The College Documentary Prize: A cash prize for outstanding achievement in documentary film or video.

Alberta Ahler Filmmaker Prize: special cash prize for the best film made by a high school student.
UNCG Showcase: A cash prize for outstanding achievement by a current UNCG student or faculty member or for a work made while the filmmaker was a student or faculty member at UNCG.
