RULES for SUBMISSIONS

The Carolina Film & Video Festival (CFVF) invites student and independent filmmakers to submit their film or video works. We accept films or videos completed within the last 18 months (measured from our deadline). We do not accept works in progress. Film or video works must be submitted on DVD. Additionally, we cannot return submissions.

WHO CAN ENTER:
Any filmmaker can submit a film for screening at CFVF. A filmmaker is anyone who exercised direct, significant creative control over the final film or video.

An “independent work” is a film or video that is made or the majority of work completed while the filmmaker was not a student AND neither (a) made under contract for a major studio or with major studio funding, distribution, or marketing; (b) shown/ under contract to be shown at commercial theatres or on network or cable television.

SPECIAL SCREENINGS are for films or videos that do not fit within the Competitive Screening category OR are: (a) made under contract for a major studio or with major studio funding, distribution, or marketing; (b) films shown/ under contract to be shown at commercial theatres or on network or cable television; (c) films made, distributed, funded, or produced in whole or in part by UNCG faculty.
