The Broadcasting and Cinema Student Advisory Board acts as an interface among faculty and students and among students in the various degree programs and concentrations offered by the Department. The Board assists the Department by keeping under review the following aspects of its program:
The Board selects the Broadcasting and Cinema faculty member, graduate, and undergraduate of the year.
The membership of the Board consists of two members of each undergraduate class, representing all four concentrations, plus two MFA students and the highest ranking student leaders of the Carolina Film and Video Festival, Spartan TV, and WUAG. Proposals drafted by Board are included on the regular agenda of the Department of Broadcasting and Cinema for action as appropriate. Each spring semester, in addition, the Board assists the Director of Undergraduate Studies in the administration of the senior graduation survey and in the planning and execution of the Broadcasting and Cinema graduation ceremony. For a complete description of the Board mission and administrative structure see pp. 12-13 of the Broadcasting and Cinema Instrument of Governance.
Membership is now open for the 2004-05 Student Advisory Board. If you are a currently enrolled BCN student and interested in serving on the Board, please contact John Lee Jellicorse.
