Bruce M. Eberhart Memorial Endowment Fund
This fund was created in 1985 from gifts given by family and friends in memory of Dr. Bruce Eberhart, who served as a longtime faculty member at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and as Chair of the Department of Biology.
The proceeds from this endowment are used to meet the needs of the Biology Department as determined by the Head, in consideration of the desire of the family that the proceeds be spent in ways that would support the goals and ideals of Dr. Eberhart.
Each year, a portion of the proceeds is used to fund the Eberhart Awards, given to selected graduating Biology majors. Eberhart Award winners are those who embody the spirit of Dr. Eberhart – students who are academically excellent, actively involved in research, and contribute to the department, university, or community as a whole.
Additional gifts may be added to the fund at any time by any interested party.
