May 15th, 2013 - One of GK-12 Fellow, Chris Hylton's, students was featured on Greensboro, NC local news as a local celebrity of sorts. Christian Warren is a bowling prodigy and also a credit to Montlieu's Academy of Technology. Christian uses an iPad he received to help his autistic sister communicate. April 24th, 2013 - GK-12 Teacher, Kathy Melious', students from Andrews High School presented their research at the American Association of Physics Teachers Joint Meeting in December of 2012. This research, Using a Spark Timer to Measure Impulse of Model Rockets, has been selected for the Summer National Meeting of the American Association of Physics Teachers in Portland, Oregon. The students will also have the honor of giving a panel session discussion about their research! Senior Shan Faizi was interviewed about his experience in this video by the Guilford County School System: Andrews Students Research Presentation at HPU. Congratulations!!!


April 15th, 2013 - The GK-12 Program was featured in the UNCG Institute for Community & Economic Engagement metrics delivered to the UNC school system General Administration. See the 2 page PDF the ICEE made.


December 6th, 2012 - Four Honors Phsyics students from GK-12 Teacher, Kathy Melious', class at Andrews High School recently presented their research at the American Association of Physics Teachers Joint Meeting at High Point University. October 23rd, 2012 - The GK-12 Project Director, Lynn Sametz, and Resident Scientist, Jennifer Braswell Alford, will be presenting the GK-12 Project 'Transforming Minds in a Transitioning Community' at the Bridging the Gap Conference in Raleigh, NC on October 23rd, 2012.
