Smithsonian Magazine Article Highlights Research of Dr. Matina Kalcounis-Rüppell
Dr. Matina Kalcounis-Rueppell, a UNCG Biology Associate Professor, was recently featured in the May, 2011 issue of Smithsonian Magazine. The article titled, 'The Mystery of the Singing Mice,' entails Dr. Kalcounis-Rueppell's exciting research on the vocalizations of mice in the wild. Rob Dunn follows Dr. Kalcounis-Rueppell and her students into a local North Carolina pine forest to set up microphones to record the ultrasonic vocalizations of wild mice and learns some history behind singing mice in the process.
