Writing Matters: A Guide to English 101

Writing Matters: A Guide to English 101 is an annual print publication of the Composition Program at UNCG. Writing Matters is written to and for students of first year composition to introduce them to the course at UNCG and strategies instructors of this course use to help students learn more about writing and become better writers. Writing Matters also includes student writing. Below are three essays from Writing Matters 2001 that might help you understand more about English 101 at UNCG and may help you consider the roles rhetoric, reading, and responding to student writing play in your own curriculum.
