Task Force on Communication Across the Curriculum

In January of 2011, David Perrin, Provost of UNCG, established a Task Force and charged it to thoroughly evaluate the current Communication Across the Curriculum Program.

From January through May 2011, the Task Force reviewed the current CAC program and researched alternative programs and approaches, submitting its tentative recommendations in May 2011.

Throughout fall 2011, representatives from the Task Force presented the tentative proposal to the various units, to several individual departments, to the Deans Council, and to the College Administrative Council. The chair of the Task Force also presented the tentative proposal in a Senate Forum, “A Proposal to the UNCG Faculty,” on October 19, 2011.

The Task Force also submitted two additional proposals respecting communication within the general education program to the General Education Council on October 23, 2011.

Throughout spring 2012, the Task Force considered the feedback it had received from the various stakeholders it had presented its proposals to, and revised its original proposal accordingly, submitting its final report to the Provost, the Dean of Undergraduate Studies, and the Chair of the Faculty Senate on May 16, 2012.
