Commuting and Living Off Campus

Eating Healthy

Unlike living in the residence halls, where a pre-paid campus meal plan is required, living off-campus involves a host of meal options that require a student to budget both time and money. Eating out can be convenient and tasty, but it can also be expensive. Preparing meals at home may be more cost-effective than eating out, but it requires a little extra time for grocery shopping, meal preparation, and cleanup—not to mention a few basic cooking skills. Campus meal plans are also available to commuting students, allowing them to take at least some meals on campus. Most commuting students find that some combination of these choices works best for them. Regardless of whether you choose to eat out, eat in, or eat on campus, it's also important to make healthy food choices, which will ultimately help you succeed at UNCG.

Food Services

Dining Service at UNCG offers an abundance of food choices for students. Choices include Chick-fil-A, Quizno's, Pizza Hut, Cranberry Farms, Healthy Choice Deli, Burger King, Java City Coffee, Blimpie Sub's, Krispy Kreme, a bakery, ice cream shop, two convenience stores, grill, salad & soup bar, plus two full service cafeterias.

A special dining plan is available for commuting students. For additional information contact Dining Services at 334-4101 or visit the dining services commuter website.

Commuter Student Delis

The commuter student delis provide an opportunity to meet other students and get information about campus programs and services. This year's Commuter Deli's are listed on the Events Calendar.

The deli's are from 11am-2pm in Cone Ballroom, EUC.

You just need to present your UNCG ID card to enter the deli. For further information contact Campus Activities and Programs at 334-5800.
