Complete Your Foreign Language Requirement

Students in the College of Arts and Sciences are required to demonstrate intermediate-level proficiency in a foreign language. The typical sequence of UNCG courses for foreign language is 101, 102, 203, and 204. The College considers successful completion of the 204 course a demonstration of proficiency. Students may place out of one or more courses through a placement test.

UNCG offers the following ten language options that meet the foreign language requirement:
Spanish Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures
French
German
Italian
Russian
Chinese
Japanese
Greek Department of Classical Studies
Latin
American Sign Language Department of Specialized Education Services
