The operation and success of the Clinic depend heavily on counseling students who work in various clinical positions. Each academic year select students are chosen to fill internship and graduate assistantship appointments. Typically, master's-level students serve as Clinic Resource Assistants, and are responsible for screening, scheduling, and recording sessions. At the doctoral level, graduate assistants are responsible for outreach, special projects, and group, individual, couple, and family counseling services. Clinic staff members also work closely with the Office of Student Affairs to provide services for the Substance Information Program, Anger Management Program, and the Making Better Choices curriculum. Each year a graduate assistant acts as coordinator of these programs, which are aimed at working with students of the University who may need additional support to succeed within the University setting. Also available are internship opportunities at the master's and doctoral level with appropriate staff and faculty supervision. In addition, the Clinic offers the Jack Bardon Fellowship to one master's or doctoral level student each academic year. This Fellowship provides a carefully chosen intern with a stipend for the internship in the Clinic.
