Faculty members in the Department of Counseling and Educational Development have achieved a number of teaching, scholarly, and service accomplishments. Collectively, the faculty have written more than 60 books, authored or coauthored 500 articles, and received over 3 million dollars in grant funding. Faculty members have been elected president of a number of national counseling organizations, including the American Counseling Association (ACA) and several of its divisions. Faculty have served or serve as editors of national professional journals, among them the Journal of Counseling and Development, Journal for Adult Development and Aging, Journal of Addictions and Offender Counseling, and the Journal of College Counseling. Faculty also serve in numerous leadership roles at the state, regional, and national level.
Away from the University, faculty members enjoy a wide range of activities, including kayaking, backpacking, playing various musical instruments, piloting an airplane, golfing, and gardening. They are involved parents, church members, and community volunteers.
