Recent Post-doc Fellows:

Mine Aladag, PhD
Assistant Professor, Ege University,
İzmir, TÜRKİYE

"It has been a really rewarding and enriching experience for me to visit the CED. Since my main purpose for postdoctoral study was to improve myself in counseling supervision, I strongly felt that I was exactly in the right program during my stay here. I saw that all the faculty members of the CED have really devoted themselves to promote quality and excellence in counselor education by training skillful counselors. I was so impressed by the Nicholas A. Vacc Counseling and Consulting Clinic, as a great and valuable opportunity for counseling students' practicum and supervision throughout the journey of becoming effective counselors."
"As I return to my country, I take with me a much-expanded repertoire of knowledge, skills, and perspectives about counseling supervision. I strongly believe that what I have learned will help me a lot to enhance counseling practicum and supervision first in my program, and then also in my country. "

Choo Yon Carrie Hong, PhD
Full-Time Lecturer, Baeksuk University, Cheonan, South Korea

"I can truly say that my time here as a post-doctoral fellows has been one of the most meaningful period in my life as a researcher, educator, and a life-time learner. The diverse, passionate, and supportive environment of the Department has allowed me to deepen my understanding in not only my area of interest but opened my eyes to a broader perspective in the field of counseling.
"I was initially impressed with the high professionalism of the faculty, then with the high academic rigor of the program, and finally the growth among the students going through the program. I am happy to have been part of this community that has helped me develop in many ways. I will always cherish my time as I end my journey at CED."

Dr. Fidan Korkut

Fidan Korkut, PhD
Associate Professor, Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey

"I was productive during my time at UNCG because UNCG had a productive atmosphere. When I was there, I finished the first draft of my book, completed at least 8 articles in Turkish, and wrote two English articles. All the faculty members, I mean all my dearest friends, helped me during my writing process. The students were bright, creative, and hardworking. And I know and have some connection with NBCC because of UNCG."
"Leaving was so hard. We are still keeping in touch. In 2004 and 2005 I visited there, and two of my friends from UNCG came to Turkey to make speeches as a keynote speaker and visit me."

Dr. Moshe Tatar

Moshe Tatar, PhD
Chair, Department of Education, and Associate Professor, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Jerusalem, Israel

"This post-doctoral program brings together counselor educators, teachers, and researchers from different countries and cultures that benefit and contribute to both their own counseling experience and to the UNCG counseling program community. My participation in this program was an incredibly enriching experience that contributed enormously to my professional development."
"As an Israeli counselor educator, I can appreciate, from an international perspective, the high academic standards, the leadership in terms of innovation, and the high professional attainments of the UNCG counseling program. The unique combination of striving for academic excellence, being culturally sensitive, and working in a socially inviting climate allows this program to attain exceptional achievements."
