Stephen C. Hassenfelt (Steve)
Service: Appointed by the Governor on August 22, 2005 for a 4-year term and reappointed in 2009 to a term expiring on June 30, 2013. Steve was chair of the Board of Trustees for 2007-2009 and currently serves on the Academic Affairs Committee, Audit Committee and Business Affairs Committee.
Employment: Chairman and CEO of Granville Capital, Inc., a Registered Investment Advisor; Prior to founding Granville Capital, Steve served as Chairman and CEO of U.S. Trust Company of North Carolina and was founder of North Carolina Trust.
Education: B.A., Business Administration, UNC-Chapel Hill, J.D. with honors, Wake Forest University Law School. Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Life Underwriter.
Professional affiliations: Member, North Carolina Citizens for Business and Industry.
Civic affiliations: Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Wesley Long Community Hospital; Chairman of Greensboro Day School Board of Trustees; Chairman of the Salvation Army Advisory Board; Past Director for the Greensboro United Way Board, Family and Children’s Service; Greensboro Rotary, North Carolina Outward Bound, Habitat for Humanity Greater Greensboro.
