 Assistant or Associate Professor

Candidates with research interests in organic synthesis or medicinal chemistry will be given special consideration.  Very competitive startup packages commensurate with qualifications are available.  The department (www.uncg.edu/che) has 14 full time faculty and features an extremely supportive and collegial environment.  It offers the BA, BS (with 3 tracks) and MS degrees in chemistry, BS and MS degrees in biochemistry and a new innovative Ph.D. program in Medicinal Biochemistry.  The departmental students are unusually diverse.  The department has recently moved into a 170,000 square foot, $35 million state of the art building.  Excellent equipment and instrumentation are available.  Applicants should have a commitment to enhancing the department’s reputation for excellent graduate and undergraduate teaching and for appointments at the associate level, a demonstrated record of funded research. 

Candidates will be expected to contribute to our present strength in research with undergraduate, Masters' and Ph.D. level students.
